When the developers of Bridgewater Residences wanted to add a touch of nature to the property, they faced a common challenge: concrete doesn’t play nice with trees. That’s where we came in. GreenBlue Urban’s soil cell system now sits invisibly beneath the plaza’s pavement, giving roots room to breathe while supporting the surface above. The result is a thriving tree canopy that flourishes above what would otherwise be impermeable pavement.
There’s a nice parallel here – just as Bridgewater offers residents a peaceful retreat minutes from city life, these trees create pockets of natural serenity in an otherwise urban setting.

The thoughtfully placed trees complement both the development’s sophisticated aesthetic and its stunning Lake Ontario views, enhancing the serene atmosphere that makes Bridgewater Residences truly exceptional. Working closely with the landscape architects, the trees were positioned to complement both the architectural features of the towers and the natural vistas. The placement creates natural sight lines that draw the eye from the building to the water, framing those million-dollar views rather than obstructing them.
These trees serve far more than aesthetic purposes, though. They create cool, shaded microclimates that naturally draw residents together to chat and unwind, while simultaneously reducing energy consumption and improving air quality through their natural cooling and filtering processes. Being near open water, the natural windbreak they create is also much appreciated.
