Despite maintaining business as usual there are still the daily challenges particularly in providing a sense of community for all not just in the work place but by maintaining morale and also ensuring personal support is continued as we all face the uncertain months ahead of what was once “normal”
As the winter night’s draw in those daily walks become a juggling act with the ever-frequent online meetings often waiting for weekends to enjoy crisp autumnal walks along our valuable public green space.
Consequently, at GreenBlue we feel that now is a perfect opportunity to celebrate National Tree Week. 28th November – 6th December sees the largest annual tree celebration marking the start of the winter tree planting season. In conjunction, we will be launching our #LetsGetPlanting campaign, by which we celebrate tree planting across the UK and the number of organisations that are assisting with community planting projects and raising awareness of the benefits that our urban trees provide.
Unfortunately planned community gatherings and celebrations will be minimal this year however we can highlight online activities and resources that will help bring communities together by raising awareness and the importance of improving woodlands and transforming our towns and cities to help improve the health and quality of life not just for now but for our future generations.
With today being the start of National Tree week, we will be launching an online poll of preferred urban trees from our shortlist as chosen by GBU employees,– please do get involved – be great to see the winning results.

Throughout December as mentioned we will be highlighting partners and charities that have our full support by hosting blogs detailing their current initiatives and how you can support on a wider scale.

As part of our campaign Let’s Get Planting instead of our usual end of year gift’s we will be donating to Tree Planting charities, the cost of soft planting for each download of our suggested resources throughout December, including today’s- Health Benefits of Trees.
