Regeneration Efforts:

Following the closure of the Ram Brewery, plans were developed to regenerate the site into a vibrant mixed-use development that would preserve its heritage while providing modern amenities. The regeneration project aimed to revitalise the area, and create new homes, retail spaces, and public areas while preserving and celebrating the site’s historical significance.

Greenland Group acquired the site with  EPR Architects and successfully obtained planning consent for a mixed-use masterplan cantered around residential development, commercial, and retail spaces.

The Ram Quarter regeneration project involved collaboration between the developer, local authority, and community stakeholders to ensure the project aligned with the area’s needs and aspirations.

As part of the regeneration efforts, a focus was placed on incorporating green infrastructure to enhance sustainability, biodiversity, and the overall quality of life for residents and visitors.

Landscape Architect Gillespies was at the forefront of designing a high-quality interlinked urban space with direct links to the River Wandle via pedestrian bridges and new public trails along the river’s edge that will offer valuable opportunities for cycling and walking to reconnect Londoners with the River and nature.
