Following a purchase of the existing headquarters by Developers Avanton, the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) are all set to move to its new location at here York Place, known as Coda, Battersea. Designed by Pankaj Patel MBE of multi-award-winning practice Patel Taylor, three striking apartment buildings will sit on a raised podium above the new Royal Academy of Dance headquarters on the ground floor.
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is a UK-based examination board specialising in dance education and training, with prominence on classical ballet. The RAD was founded in London in 1920 as the Association of Teachers of Operatic Dancing and was granted a Royal Charter in 1935. Queen Elizabeth II is patron of the RAD, and Darcey Bussell was elected to serve as president in 2012, succeeding Antoinette Sibley who served as President for 21 years.
The RAD was created to improve the standard of ballet teaching in the UK and is now one of the largest dance organisations in the world with over 14,000 members in 79 countries.

The £120 million former Homebase retail site, will now house a multi-purpose scheme that will consist of 299 mixed-tenure homes, (130 of which are for private sale), a student library, public café, 24-hour concierge service, fully fitted gym and fitness studio and a private lounge all overlooking the oasis style landscaped grounds.
Landscape architects Exterior Architects encompassed the vision of the scheme, specifying GreenBlue Urban ArborSystem Tree Pits for the long term canopy they will create for this exclusive scheme.
The 7 pits consist of RootSpace 600, Generation 2 soil cells, 1 layer deep, RootForm units for additional support with root management measuring 1.5 x 1.5 meters, Deadman ArborGuy anchors, double Arborvents for aeration, gravel drainage and RootStart Mycorrhiza will enable the 7 trees the best start and additional nutrient during the crucial establishment phase.
